Dr. Yasushi Saeki is a Professor in the Division of Protein Metabolism at the Institute of Medical Science, the University of Tokyo. He received his PhD from the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Hokkaido University. Following postdoctoral research at the University of Tokyo, he joined Dr. Keiji Tanaka’s laboratory at the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Science. He later established his own research group and in 2023, he moved to the University of Tokyo. His research focuses on elucidating the intricate molecular mechanisms of the ubiquitin-proteasome system, including ubiquitin-dependent phase separation of the proteasome and the pathophysiological roles of proteasomal degradation.
