Dr Yukiko Yoshida
Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Science, Japan
Yukiko Yoshida has been studying glycoprotein-specific ubiquitin ligases since she joined the late Keiji Tanaka’s lab at the Tokyo Institute of Medical Science in 2002. These E3 ligases play a crucial role in diseases caused by abnormal glycoprotein metabolism. Right now, her team is working to find drugs that control the activity of these ligases. They are also studying how the proteasome and ubiquitin ligases work under cellular stress conditions.
